Statement of Purpose for Foreign Missions
The purpose of Missions Department is to plan and facilitate the development of financial and human resources for worldwide missions ministries.
Our Lord Jesus has given His disciples the command to go into all the world to make disciples of all nations. We, as His disciples, must not only evangelize to make disciples among our people in our own neighborhood as any local church should do, but also be concerned for the evangelism and disciple making among other peoples in other cultures, and in other parts of the world, yet unreached with the gospel. These are our responsibility.
While local evangelism and disciple making can be done directly by members of the church, evangelism and disciple making in other people groups have to be done mainly by missionaries and national believers. The raising up, training, sending, and supporting missionaries and national workers to fulfill this mandate given us by our Lord, and the promotion of such, is called "missions". The ministry of the Missions Department in the church is to develop the financial and human resources for missions.
The church has contact with many evangelical missionary agencies. Currently 19 missionary units are under our regular support thorough Faith Promising Giving. They came for evangelism and church planning, literature radio broadcast and theological education, children's ministry etc. in Asia, Europe and America. We also encourage our members to go our for short term missions.
